About Us

At Sea3R, we specialise in identifying and quantifying maritime operational risks, determining our client’s exposure to reputational damage and identifying the appropriate escalation or response.

Peter Molloy

Peter is an all-round maritime and shipping expert with extensive knowledge in maritime law, marine engineering, ship and port commercial operations, vessel vetting and valuation, data visualisation, application development and system design.

Having a strong interest in the maritime industry, Peter has developed a broad knowledge and experience in the industry over the past 14 years. This includes seagoing experience, along with vessel and port operations from the perspective of shipowners, charterers and third-party service providers.

In September 2019, Peter started Sea3R a maritime consultancy company bringing together all this experience to offer advice and services to financial institutions with maritime portfolios.

Peter completed a degree in Marine and Plant Engineering in 2008 and sailed as an EOOW before coming ashore into an operations role in 2011. Since then, he has completed an Advanced Diploma in shipping business and passed all of the professional qualification exams to become a member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS). He sat as Vice Chairman on the committee for the ICS Ireland branch and on arriving in Rotterdam he joined the Netherlands development Branch which launched as an active branch in late 2019. During this time, Peter continued his education and completed a Masters in Maritime Law with the University of London.

Rod Schlick

Having a seagoing father and grandfather, venturing onto the sea and into the maritime world was a natural decision for Rod that he still fully enjoys. After completing his nautical training as Maritime Officer (dual education for Deck Officer and Marine Engineer) from the Higher Nautical School in Amsterdam in the early 90’s, he went sailing on the high and coastal seas on various Heavylift, Multipurpose, RoRo, Passenger and dry cargo vessels.

After obtaining his Master all Ships license, Rod sailed for a few more years ending as a Captain. Having obtained his degree in Maritime Science (Maritime Economics and Maritime Law) from the Universities of Ghent and Antwerp in Belgium, he joined Friday & Co Shipbrokers (formerly Aras Shipbrokers and Amels Shipbrokers) as a broker in 2003. Since then he has the pleasure to work with nice clients and colleagues on all facets of the sale & purchase market for ships, a world he could not dream to live without.
